A handyman for Poway's family homes & big lots
Poway earned its “City in the Country” nickname honestly — spacious single‑family homes, established neighborhoods near Lake Poway and Old Poway, and larger semi‑rural and horse properties to the east. Bigger homes and yards generate practical work: decks and pergolas, fence and gate repair, playset and shed assembly, garage and overhead storage, and ceiling fans for the warm inland days.
Inside, it's the usual family wear and tear — TVs to mount, furniture to build, doors and drywall to fix. Whatever it is, we quote it upfront from a photo and keep same‑day slots open across Poway and North Inland.

- Fence & gate repair and new runs

What we've worked on around Poway lately
Recent Poway jobs — the bigger lots and equestrian properties keep the mix varied.
- East Poway equestrian property, run-in shelter corner post — original post had rotted at grade. Replaced with a Postmaster steel-sleeve post set in Quikrete 5000, then re-tied the roof framing back in with Simpson Strong-Tie hurricane ties so the next Santa Ana doesn't pull it apart.
- Twin Peaks backyard, Springfree medium-round trampoline — anchored properly for inland wind. Manufacturer's auger anchors (four of them, screwed in by hand on damp soil), plus six 35-lb sandbags as the wind-zone backup Springfree requires for our area.
- Green Valley family room, 12-foot vaulted ceiling — pulled a tired 2010 fan, installed a 60" Hunter Symphony with a 12" downrod sized for the ceiling height, and wired in a Lutron Maestro dual fan + light control so the homeowner stopped using the noisy chain pull.
- Lake Poway-area west-facing kitchen window, solar mesh — installed Phifer SunTex 80 (20% openness factor, blocks ~80% of incident heat) on the outside of a hot afternoon window. Homeowner reported a clear drop in AC runtime after 3pm.
- Rancho Bernardo HOA-strict community, smart deadbolt — swapped a standard deadbolt for a Schlage Encode Plus with Apple Home Key. Matched the existing satin nickel finish exactly so the HOA's exterior-uniformity rule didn't get triggered.
Sub-neighborhoods and ZIPs we cover

- Twin Peaks — established 1970s–80s homes off Twin Peaks Rd, family neighborhood.
- Green Valley — split-levels and ranches; lots of vaulted-ceiling fan jobs.
- Powers Park area — quieter residential pocket.
- Lake Poway & the dam/reservoir area — hillside homes with afternoon sun load.
- East Poway equestrian properties — half-acre+ lots, some with arenas; the run-in / fence work is real out there.
- Rancho Bernardo (technically City of SD but Poway-adjacent) — HOAs are common and strict; we work within the rules.
- Sabre Springs and Scripps Ranch — adjacent, similar lot sizes and family-home work mix.
- ZIPs: 92064 (Poway), 92128 (Rancho Bernardo).
Getting to Poway from El Cajon
From our shop at 1551 N Magnolia Ave, Poway is about 25–30 minutes — either 67 north through Lakeside, or I-8 west to 15 north depending on traffic. We schedule Poway in pairs (two or three jobs per trip) to make the drive efficient. SR-67 westbound after 3:30pm gets slow, so we book Poway jobs for AM windows when possible.
